  • Kia Drive enables customers to rent vehicles directly from participating Kia dealers in Europe

September 19, 2024 – Kia is expanding the company’s mobility solutions portfolio with the launch of Kia Drive. This simple and convenient local service provides customers with access to short-term rentals through the Kia dealer network across Europe.

The car rental market in Europe is set to grow to €26 billion annually by 2026.* In urban areas, customers are attracted by the flexibility, cost efficiency and convenience that short-term car rentals offer. Providing this service at Kia dealerships puts the vehicles in easier reach of customers, compared to car rental services located at airports and hard-to-reach industrial areas.

“As Kia Drive expands into a larger and more comprehensive service, the core objective of bringing more sustainable mobility solutions to local areas remains the same,” said Marc Hedrich, President & CEO at Kia Europe. “Enabling a car dealer to become a car renter makes perfect sense, and our participating dealerships are motivated to connect with their communities and provide short-term rentals in a personalised and meaningful way.”

Customers can book vehicles using a dedicated webpage within kia.com or in person at the dealership. Rather than booking a vehicle category, customers can book a specific vehicle, and in doing so they can opt to reduce emissions by renting an electric model and enjoy the experience of driving the latest vehicles available.**

Wible Drive becomes Kia Drive

The Wible Drive service has proven highly successful after launching in its first five markets. In 2024, the service, now Kia Drive, will expand to a total of more than 100 dealer locations. Included in Kia´s mobility portfolio is also Kia Flex, the brand’s subscription service from 3 to 18 months that enables drivers to enjoy new vehicles without the obligations of ownership.
